Today is my first visit to Mugendai, one of the best sushi bars in Bangkok. Due to class cancellation, I arranged a lunch rendezvous at Mugendai. The food quality here is no doubt magnificent. I decided to order a lunch set of cold soba with tempura, to follow off with sushi. The soba was chewy, the tempura, especially shrimp tempura, gave a well-balanced sensation between the crisp of the tempura and the firmness of the meat. I can definitely define it as the best tempura ever had.
As a sequel to the lunch set was the Matsuzaka Sushi. The tenderness and silkiness of the sushi was of pure excellency.
At first, I ordered four pieces of cyu-toro; unfortunately cyu-toro was out of stock, so I had an akami nigiri instead. The akami was doubtlessly fantastic. Its delicacy melted inside as soon as I experienced its first touch. I forgot to mention about akami, it was a bluefin tuna.
Last but not least, I had the botan-shrimp, the spotlight of the day’s meal. Firm, but tender and sweet was how I would characterize it.
The daifuku was also of great taste. No words can exemplify my love for the meal here.
Although Mugendai may be the best sushi bar in Bangkok, as seen from my perspective, its price lets it down at a certain level; it is slightly expensive. Nonetheless, the food quality brings an overall satisfaction for the sushi bar. Lastly, I shall give Mugendai a return definitely!
